In this video, we chat it up with Dave Davis, about the new Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR). Dave is a wealth of knowledge on the subject of the USSF sniper program. A true quiet professional, he is always willing to help new/old shooters better themselves. Dave talks a bit more in depth about the PSR’s capabilities; including some of the gadgets that make this a Sniper Weapon System, rather than just a Sniper Rifle. We also go quickly through how to swap calibers. It really is just that easy.
About a year prior to this visit, we got to spend a day out on the range with the PSRs. We were breaking in the barrels and gathering data on accuracy and (just as importantly) consistency following suppressor addition/removal and swapping calibers in the field. Why consistency? If the changes are repeatable and consistent, I can record them in my sniper data book and apply them as needed. However, if they are NOT repeatable; I would then have to re-zero the rifle every time I made a change (such as applying the suppressor). The PSR passed all our tests with flying colors.
Our current snipers are very competent with the new PSR, which then equates to them being confident (and Lethal) with the PSR overseas. I love this gun; just wish it has been available back in 2001.
