This is actually one of the most stupid scenes in The Boys. I mean, why MM used halothane in the first place? He didn't have any clue what substance was used to knock out Soldier Boy, so well, like, he just randomly picked one from possibly milions of nerve agents and threw it at a man who is well known to be almost immortal. "Didn't work? Well too bad, next time let's try with something else"…
…and actually they did it 😀 Next time they tried with Novichok, which Frenchie figured out also randomly just looking at the footage (let's be honest, his explanation was not logical at all) and voila, they put him to sleep. No, investigation or anything. I mean the whole plan of defeating him was based on assumption that the smoke they saw on a footage is a certain chemical substance from all possible known substances. With this luck, they should really go together and play roulette in Vegas for a month after final action.

One of the most interesting things about this show is how they display the power dynamic. In any real world scenario MM would wipe the floor with soldier boy. However the existence of super powers make MM’s enormous stature meaningless against supes.
I don’t know what is up with people saying you should respect MM for standing up against Soldier Boy, one of the strongest Supes, despite having no powers.
That is only because Soldier Boy didn’t lay a finger on him.

Would you believe MM was incredibly brave for trying to take on SB despite having no chance against him. Or just so unbelievably stupid for trying in the first place. Even Butcher was under no illusions that he could harm Homelander. Before Temp V, much of Butcher’s plans to deal with Homelander was just hurting him emotionally, not actually fighting him.

I don't know why everyone is calling MM brave for this, in reality it just makes him an idiot. So what he goes toe to toe with SB, gets his head knocked off in a split second, and then what? The Boys are short 1 and the chances of them taking down HL or SB just got less cause of he decided it was milking time?
I like solider boy, when he sees MM in the show after this he always looks down for a sec and when butcher says not him, I think you can see genuine shame in his eyes. I think he regrets killing innocents and is a good guy
