dont wear it on the back hip if you plan on sitting in a car, or sitting in general. ive found with my kydek hoslter its better to get it on the side of me still concealed. there ups and downs to this, but i dont wanna cover them incase you use this comment ill let you get after it. liked and subbed.
aye, you gotta move to nightsights for a glock, theyre terrible.
I would say do not carry ammunition in your concealed carry gun from places like double tap… Etc. I do recommend caring ammunition that the factory box says defense ammunition, personal defense of ammunition and versions of that statement. Never carry ammunition that you have loaded personally and your defensive gun they were use the argument that you are a professional killer. Basically only use factory ammo that uses the word defense.
There's only one thing I tell every single person to avoid with their carry gun. And while I may advise others that cosmetic changes (those which don't alter the performance of the firearm), any safety defeats (chopping a manual safety or deleting a trigger shoe safety), or having "competition" parts installed may be bad, they pale in comparison to my true advice.
The one thing you should NEVER do to your carry gun is….
LEAVE IT BEHIND.
Personally, I would rather be explaining my modifications or cosmetic changes on my gun to a jury than to Saint Peter. Whatever gun you have, whether it's a Gucci'd out Glock or a Bond Arms 45/410, it's not going to do you a damn bit of good if it's not within reach when the shit hits the fan. On another personal note, I do typically choose to mod my guns but only to increase performance in some way, so long as it doesn't make the gun less reliable or safe. You do you. There are a ton of people who know more than I do, I just want you to at least have the ability to protect/defend life.
Having a custom gun may be presented to a jury as you having "an enthusiasm to use it. You're a gun nut. The gun is not just a tool to you, it's something that you've gone out with to show off and been keen to use. You went out looking to shoot someone and you did. You provoked a confrontation and you're a murderer."== Stick to OEM. It looks better in court.
I just got the shield plus and I love it!
Your last item is, for me, so important! I rotate 4 edc guns… None of them like the PMC hp rounds… so, I avoid this brand… find one round that you trust and stick to it!
Don't mod the carry gun. Excellent advice. I might also add, choose ammo with a bit of common sense as well. If you run 'Zombie-killin' Rhino Power Super Death' loads, you could be accused of being a bloodthirsty killer. Regular plain Jane loads. Something like 'Critical Defense' is as exciting as I'd get.
Very good advice. Thank you for the no BS approach.FJB!
The mods advice is awful… if the mods improve your ability enough to be a difference maker, then move forward with the understanding that an attorney will try to claim you are a blood thirsty war monger. They will do this no matter what. If that comp, trigger job, extended mag, etc. gives you that tiniest advantage in these incredibly rare "one in a million" situations, you will be glad you ignored this dude's advice.
Don't ever pick your nose with your carry gun.
first thing I did with my regular carry Glock was have it powder coated pink with yellow polka dots, that way it looks nice and pretty,,LOL oh brother………jk
Very well presented and articulated 💪🏽🇺🇸
Like the belt . What brand n website.. love your show
I don't modify my carry guns due to the fact that it could induce failures. I do like night sights though. Let's just be honest do you really want a 2-3 lbs. trigger on your carry gun? To me that spells out ND, or you get excited and accidently shooting someone or something when that adrenaline hits. I will confess I did buy a back plate with some naughty words, but I have since then fixed that.
Hey man, spot on with all of your comments. Personally I’m a 43X guy, completely stock…with 124 gr Hornady XTP, for all of the same reasons that you mentioned in this video. I know that with 14 years experience as a Special Forces Operator, if I ever have my carry gun…when I go to court they will nail me to the wall if there is any slack in my testimony. That’s why keep it simple, know my rights, And stay up-to-date on the laws in my state. Thank you for the great contact and keep up the good work.
I don’t see a problem with a lighter trigger pull. Like other people said it makes the gun more accurate when your life counts on it do you want to be as accurate as possible. I agree with the fancy back plates like the punisher one I have a buddy who has a Glock who has one like that I just stick to my standard stock one. I keep a Smith and Wesson shield 9 mm in my pocket and no I don’t usually fidget with her play with it it’s not a fidget toy. My gun definitely has a loaded chamber but my Smith and Wesson shield has a safety on it also I chose that option you can quickly turn the safety off with your thumb very easily.
I had to violate one rule on g2c, replaced the clicking trigger with a justkeeptinkering trigger. Still same pull weight.
Retired Law Enforcement here…..these are words to live by….
Nothing wrong with using aftermarket parts for a carry gun, you just need to be mindful of what you're doing to it.
I live in MA. My shield came with an 11# trigger. The first thing I did was have the FFL install APEX internals.
Im buying a one way ticket to the USA, right now I live in California….no rights. need to go to the land of the free
So my carry gun has a blue extended mag release, a blue back plate, and a blue +1 magazine extension… would you consider this to be ok? The only words on any upgrade parts is hyve
Dude, my one and only ND happened a year ago in the back room at work… while showing my carry to a client. Luckily, I’m essentially brainwashed to do certain things while handling it, so the round went into a pile of bags of concrete and steel weight plates. Why those were in the back room of a tattoo shop, I don’t know. And I’m pretty sure everyone who was working on a tattoo at that moment had a flinch in their linework😂. But, holy shit was I mortified and embarrassed. And immediately was like, “well, there’s something I’ll absolutely never do again!”
I carry chambered. I don't show or tell anybody when it is on my person. Most people close to me don't even know whether I have it or not. Lets face it, some family functions I don't. But, it is in my vehicle at all times hidden but accessible. I'm the only one who knows where it is at though!
……….i stopped listening after it turned into a fucking sightmark commercial….
But after I stopped laughing… I just 😬 over th fuddery
Has there ever been a legal case that involved mods in the legal process? I agree with not upgrading trigger and the stupid statements on the firearm, but I’ve also seen people state even the ammo should be considered and yet can find no evidence of any of these things being an issue in a court case
One thing i recommend. Get your own body camera.
It really you got you're going to let the damn police tell you what to do with your weapons and your stickers police and people tell you what to do with your stickers I just tell people to shut the hell up my right f**** s*** man or I tell him to go get a gun before they open their f**** mouth and start talking about mine people just need to stop telling people what to do
I've never even heard of that holster
That's what I got is a $20 Kydex holster and then I have a 40 dollar inside the waist Kydex holster which I hate
I have a 150 grains synthetic ammo but I just got it cuz I want to see what it's like I've always seen it on YouTube just fun just for fun not to protect myself I have HST for that
It seems as ccw holders we might want a body cam or do we?
Waiting for the call from the LA Sherrif ccw unit to pick up permit after going through the process for a year. Until the unconstitutional Ca gun roster and mag capacity ban is removed which will be soon we are limited to 10 rounds. The Shield comes with a 7 and 8 round magazine. So we can’t buy the Shield plus yet. As long as you test your mags with the extended mag extensions periodically and found to be reliable I don’t see why we couldn’t use them in our carry guns.
I equate some of these reasons to be equal to "apologizing" for shooting an attacker. Don't apologize, don't give an inch of our freedom ! The attacker's rap sheet should weigh more than our tastes in defensive tools !
1) never leave home without it 2) never talk about it, show it off, or "let your buddy check it out" 3) only let someone else handle it at a range 4) only speak about being involved in a shooting from an apologetic point of view 5) only load the firearm with the ammunition that you have practiced with 6) make sure that you only carry the firearm that you have practiced with 7) keep the firearm clean, dry, serviceable
7:51 What kind of idiot would put a fully loaded mag in a gun , rack the slide, and then ask did that just chamber a round? If the person you're handing your gun to is that inexperienced and stupid, then yeah definitely dont let him see another gun… Ever!
Maybe he'd miss spoke and meant there was ALREADY a loaded mag in the gun when he handed it to his friend, then his friend unknowingly racked the slide thats different and would shift the blame to the owner of the gun. But he said the friend put a loaded magazine in the gun himself and then racked the slide. Those are 2 very different things.
