As a retired vet, I believe teachers now deserve to receive hostile fire pay. This is what service members receive when the security situation requires them to carry weapons. But think about it – American schools equate to overseas hostile fire zones. And our children are now non-combatants & “collateral damage.” Unnecessary & sickening.
Yes. We're instructors, counselors, nurses, social workers, chauffeurs, hall monitors, test administrators. Why not be cops too? I demand more money for teachers.
Anyway, all that BS training will go out the window during an active shooter event. The ones shooting up the schools know all of this "training." They're typically students who received drill training, know what teachers are doing, including the layout of building and have access passes to get in.
What if an armed teacher snaps and becomes the shooter? Then what?
