DUELING TREE OF DEATH | DRILL |Tactical Rifleman
One of my favorite training tools is the Dueling Tree steel target. Any time you are competing against an opponent with a firearm, you are helping to build combat skill. I like the use of the barricades in a dueling tree drill! Innovative and excellent, as usual.
fun, but a big waste of ammo. Stick to 22's for such plinking. The range is much too far, the target much too small for it to have anything to do with reality. You can prove that to yourself, simply by trying it without any ear protection. You know, like REALITY. you'll shoot dry every mag you have on you and neither one will win.
This reminds me of being a Varsity Football Coach. Fun drills that actually have good purpose.
when you have cover, dont shoot at enemies who have cover., in a normal, US civilian defensive situation. The noise is bringing the cops, which is forcing your attacker to leave. Yuo wont hit him when he's using cover. so all you'll do is run out of ammo. Just continue to use cover and keep peeking out, at different spots each time, while being READY to fire if you see him seeking to outsflank your cover. If he DOES, youll then have a fully exposed enemy. Be sure to still have plenty of ammo when/if that happens! If you keep on blasting away at a head that's bobbing around cover, you soon wont have any ammo left.

I think this target type may kick my ass in my upcoming first steel challenge match. Well I guess if I'm not loosing I'm not learning anything new.

Around the 5:24 mark I thought that the cameraman was walking right into the line of fire from the shooters. I thought "this guys an idiot"

Also I never thought to use a dulling tree like this, and now I feel really dumb because it seems really obvious. Then again I'm a marine and I usually eat the steel targets, eat the guns and ammunition, eat the bad guys, eat the good guys too, then eat the sergeant major for telling me to take my hands out of my pockets…. so whose judging?
