Only 7 ton steel per flor?
It's insane it was built so quickly. I'd love to see something half that size, be built in twice as long..
"It looks like a scene from 1992." ??? Huh? With the blimps?
Click bait
I have a 78rpm recording my father made while he and his Navy buddy were atop the Empire State Building in Oct 1956. He sent it to his mother back home in Indiana. He describes what they could see and what they had been doing . They had seen the movie Giant at the Roxy.
Great to see Season 2!
I’m scared of heights
I would have liked to see some more detail on exactly how those air ducts work, because I still have no idea and this sounds very interesting; but I also understand that might be beyond the scope of this video. Well done; it's entertaining, well-edited, and very interesting!
The music is too loud… I left the chat
Could have sworn that the Sears tower was the tallest building in the world during the 70s and after until the 2000s 🤷♂️
Built in 410 Days !!!!!
Art Deco magic
Views of NYC pollution….yuck
Darth Vader works for the Empire State
Yeah, it was quite a feat. Should be one of the wonders of the world. Did I mention I hate New York City. The Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge are works of art. Built to last longer than people live.

The iron workers have balls of steel
Oh…and it was hit by a plane too. But it didn't fall down.
Could this be built today?
The blimp mythology is so ingrained that when saying that it was never feasible to tie up blimps, she still refers to it as the mooring mast.
I'm Surprised they didn't mention it getting hit by a plane In 1945
Legend says OSHA inspectors are forbidden from watching “how it was built” videos on this building due to a near 100% panic attack inducing chance
Tuff lads to walk those beams
Planning a visit to NYC in 2023. First stop – ESB. Second stop – Chrysler Building. The two stunning Art Deco skyscrapers that NYC has to offer. There are no others. And nearly 100 years on, they may not be the tallest anymore … but they are the coolest skyscrapers that we all want to see in person.
The MUSIC should be in the background. Not on top of who is talking.
And all I got was an empire state building pencil sharpener. I thing we still have it somewhere. From 1965(?).
Elegance defined
4.5 stories per week back then!!? Wow that's impressive
💋 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐦
I went to NYC for the first time in February 2014 by bus but only for a couple hours. I didn't get a chance to visit the inside of The Empire State building like I wanted I still regret it. But at least I got a chance to see the city light up before we left, so beautiful 🌇🌃🏙🌆
Did we watch just an ad to visit the building one day?
n j us number 3 runs east inline with e,s,b .
Are you Ted Mosby?
The amount of maintenance needed to keep that building the way it is is crazy to think about…. We’ll as a maintenance man anyway
4 1/2 stories a week is crazy. Very hard working men back then!
1992?
You gotta have a lot of courage to be so high up in the air, during construction.
Music is so obnoxious. WHY!?
@4:43 looks like a scene from 1992
Wow !
Interesting contents, but the horrible music makes it hard to watch.
Gotta be the best looking building out there

4:40 – it did amuse me how the narrator said it looked like a scene from 1992 – now 30 years ago 😂
