Springfield Armory Echelon Review | BEST New Pistol 2023?
Is the ALL NEW Springfield Armory Echelon enough to knock Sig Sauer and Glock off their duty pistol high horses? The fundamentals of pistol shooting and three main factors are grip, sights and trigger. So it only makes sense this all new duty pistol from Springfield Armory would ace the assignment…. but did they??

In this review of the ALL NEW Springfield Echelon we cover every aspect of the pistol, both proprietary and what they improved upon from other manufacturers! Three main features to this pistol is the Variable Interface System or VIS optics mounting platform, COG or central operating group and finally a fantastic trigger which is better than any Glock or Sig available! In fact the only duty related pistol that can compete trigger wise is the Walther PDP, which is hands down the best out of the box trigger when it comes to duty pistols.
The pistol features aggressive slide serrations and a trench as they call it with a flared rear end to rack or manipulate the slide easily. The slide features the VIS optics system for a low cut red dot mount of over 30 different options and no plates! Finishing off the slide is a front dot and u notch rear sight.
The grip module is interchangeable amongst grip sizes or the likely aftermarket support of grip options. It’s fully ambidextrous with aggressive but comfortable grip surfaces, similar to what you’d see on the Springfield Hellcat Pro. Finishing it off is a undercut on the trigger guard and pic rail which we put a Surefire X300 on!
The pistol shoots flat, was reliable and easy to shoot fast right out of the gate! Springfield Armory corrected years of XDM Elite shortcomings and passed up the competition with the 9mm Echelon striker fired pistol. Get hands on with one and we are sure you will agree this thing shoots better than any comparable Glock G17 or Sig P320 you shoot!

Love your channel, Its been my favorite gun channel for awhile. Appreciate what you do. Can you stop grabbing the bottom of you holster. You know where the bullets come out. Especially when using a gun made in Croatia…😮
It’s the Xdm elite 9mm/10mm trigger 11:27
It’s looks like to me haven’t touched the gun yet 😂 14:40
The police officer I looked up to as big bro when I was younger he always had a Xd
This pistol is obviously a blend of a Glock, a Sig P320, and a Walther PDP. And the optics mounting VIS system looks very similar to what Strike Industries uses on their SMC.
You knocked this Echelon video out of the park outstanding 👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲that looks like its going to be a great pistol I love it
I enjoyed the review. Thankyou Sir.
The Saint Edge of the 9mm The Echelon
The gear up package for this firearm should be 2/17 rounders and the 3 / 21 rounders that would be Awesome
You're not doing the OPOTA qualifications course correctly. Not giving commands, not stepping of the X, on the first course or fire after the three shots you are not stepping back covering down, no sual scan. And PS….why are you wearing gloves…is it cold out sweetheart 💋
This is the third review I've seen and I agree this is THE ONE ! Super nice out of the box . Most need something, this one doesn't, Outstanding. Everything about it . I like the HS507C P.A.Volcan ACSS chevron or HS T508
Well done. How about a comparison of this against the PDP Pro SD. Granted this is not the tactical threaded version. Aftermarket mag-wells will probably be available soon. Also, a 45 and 10mm in this configuration would rival the FN line. It is not a stretch to say that within the next year Springfield is going to spring into the forefront and possibly reclaim its lost glory.
I will probably continue running my glocks for the forseeable future (acquiring all the holsters, mags, parts, etc be expensive). That being said…Yeah, this thing looks awesome! It has everything I could possibly want and nothing I wouldn't. Do I need it? Nah. Do I low key want it? Yes!
Since you also carry a P320 for duty use, which would you prefer between the P320 and the Echelon? My department won't allow P320's any longer. I now use the M&P 2.0 Metal; However, its not a P320. Value your opinion, thank you!
So if the commies make a good gun, all the pro-gun guys forget that theyre commies.
That looks like a excellent home defense pistol
We're big fans of the review copy received. Springfield did a pretty good job with this one.
Can we get some videos on your duty set up? I love the vest and would love to see your set up with your vest and belt for duty use.
Strike Industries lite slide works similarly.
It would take something special for me to switch from the MR920/G19 platform.
Fcu Glock . Springfield said alright we're gonna give the people what they want .
A g17p320pdp
Slides but ass ugly though and the trigger guard and back strap throw me off .
But hopefully aftermarket offerings come soon
Always appreciate your take on new pistols. I am fortunate enough to own most of the new ones you have reviewed and it’s led me to start a channel and upload shorts. Appreciate your content thank you.
Love to see a comparison between these and the updated M&P 2.0s. the PDP is nice but M&P 2.0's are better…fight me about it.
21:10 What are those?!?!?!?!?!?!? 1.. 1… 1… get back down.
Dammm. excellent stuff. first time viewer.
Which do you like more? The echelon or the shadow systems?
One of the best and thorough reviews I've seen on this pistol. 👍
You can have a version of Sig 320 that falls into every category or flavor. Granted, the very first had issues, but the subsequent models are great. They dont just hand out some if the awards some versions of the 320 have won. Also granted, most Sig 320s are at $899 or above. I do like this new Echelon SA price point for some of the features you get. The question is, are they as good as they appear? Ive always loved the SA Operator TRP but thats a different animal. I also loved tge O.G. XDs , i cant speak to the 2.0 because i never owned one.
I have not been interested in any new poly pistols for a long time. Not a fan of p320… guns with known safety and triggers that feel like toy guns. The SA is legit. Can’t wait to see what other option they come out with. To SA credit they sent dozens of these out to YT channels. Can’t fault them for being very good at marketing.
Every comment thread for this gun has people comparing to p320 simply because it has a trigger module. P320 trigger is one or the worst triggers I have shot compared to dozens for poly pistols. This one is being reviewed as hanging great trigger. Seems like NO comparison.
EVERY review of this gun has the same surefire light on it, you would think the gun came with it
I was able to shoot it today at my local range and honestly didn't like it
Amazing review brotha 🙌 I'm hoping SA makes a compact version of this, Im already saving up for one 🔥
I knew they were going to up the macro eventually I just knew it
Haven’t shot it let alone held it, and I don’t like it lmao, because I’m afraid I’ll like it over my P320 and PDPs, maybe even over my P226.
Thanks. One of the best reviews I have seen on the Echelon
Excellent review, one of the best, if not the best review of the Echelon!
Brother, best Echelon review. Thanks for that. I love when another manufacturer put the other one to work 😂😂. I will be buying this pistol. Thanks for the excellent review.
Another terrific review from you. We appreciate it.
For me, the new SA Echelon will be a tempting purchase. I recently purchased the Aimpoint Acro P2, and was debating a) slide-cutting my G45, b) purchasing the Oracle Arms Combat Elite Pro (if that is what it will be called) depending on several factors such as trustworthy test reviews or, c) taking a chance on this new beauty by Springfield Armory. The fact that high quality holsters by Safariland are available for the Echelon on day one is very compelling!
Sounds like the comparison in customization is between this and shadow systems. Which would you prefer after handling them?
I need CZ to not get swallowed hy colt and innovate like this. Image the the p-10 line with a cog or the. Omega hammer fired guns
It is nice to finally see a striker fired pistol that actually needs no upgrades. Really tempting, but I already have 3 G17 like pistols. I really have no need, but its good to see its out there for others.
Would have been cool if the flared sections on the slide were checkered for that extra grip. But that’s JIMO.
Am I the only person who is sick and tired of all the Shills supposedly reviewing guns with no bias??
What ammo did you run? And is it +p capable
I loved how accurate this gun is but I hate that I got slide bite from it. Smh. Big hand problems. You think the larger module may help with slide bite?
Subscribed 😎🤘 nice channel and awesome review
As someone who has a Gen 3 G19 with no RMR cut for years. Would you recommend this to someone who want to get into an RDS System? Since the release of this pistol I've been toying with the notion of selling/trading in my trusty G19 for this (Probably after its been out for awhile). I've considered upgrading to a DR or MR920 from Shadow Systems, but the price tag on those would still be more than this. What are your thoughts? Second, it would be nice to see a "Versus" video between the DR920 and the Echelon.
